About the Recipe

Another favorite in my family. This is my Mom's recipe and a delicious chocolate cake that is sure to please!

Ingredients

2 sticks of butter softened
2 cups of sugar
4 eggs - room temperature
1 large Hershey bar ($2.50 size)
11 oz Hershey syrup
2 and 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Grease and flour tube or bundt pan
Add the 1/2 tsp soda to buttermilk using a large bowl. It will foam up. Set aside
Melt the Hershey bar in microwave until melted. Stir until smooth
Cream butter, sugar and eggs
Add in the melted Hershey bar and chocolate syrup and stir until well mixed
Add in the flour, salt and prepared buttermilk
Add in vanilla
Bake in 325 degree oven for aprox 1 hour and 15 minutes. Check with toothpick at 1 hour. Done when toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean
Glaze if desired. We like it without glaze or frosting.
